I. VISION STATEMENT

To utilize Tennessee's advanced telecommunications infrastructure as a competitive advantage for existing business, technology transfer efforts and new business development.

II. MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of Technology 2020 is to stimulate new economic activity by expanding the availability and the utilization of information technologies in Tennessee's Resource Valley.

III. FACILITY

Technology 2020 is an 18,000 square foot state-of-the-art information technology demonstration, research and applications center located in Oak Ridge, TN. This unique facility offers sophisticated technological infrastructure for video conferencing, electronic data interchange (EDI), information technology demonstration, commercial application of leading edge research and development and a constantly expending array of innovative information technology oriented activities.

Individuals, businesses and institutions may utilize this unique information technology facility through a variety of participation options ranging from individual Associate Membership to the Technology 2020 Benefactor level. In addition, a Technology 2020 Research and Development Consortium pools annual investments to sponsor research on new applications in the information technology field.

IV. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS INCUBATOR

Technology 2020 has approximately 4,000 square feet of space designed as new business incubator space. This incubator component is designed as flexible research, demonstration and development space for fledgling companies engaged in the transfer of information technology to commercial application and commercially viable business ventures. Targeted businesses are those ventures requiring access to highly specialized, state-of-the-art telecommunications equipment and supporting infrastructure.
