Partnering arrangements with one the DOE facilities in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, Inc., are available with the R&D and manufacturing facilities at the Oak Ridge Complex. Technology Transfer enables private industry and academia to make practical application of the advanced R&D and technical expertise from DOE's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Oak Ridge Centers for Manufacturing Technology, and the Oak Ridge Centers for Environmental Technology and Waste Management. This technology transfer program makes available the most innovative equipment, the latest technology, and the valuable expertise of staff to outside organizations. Hundreds of new technologies have been developed and patented at the government-owned research and production facilities in Oak Ridge. Many of these technologies, ranging from ceramics to computational science to biotechnology, may now be licensed to U.S. companies.
