The Integrated Technical Information System (ITIS)

The Integrated Technical Information System (ITIS), the Department of Energy's inhouse online system, provides:

• Access to DOE scientific and technical databases
• Information merging for customized information products
• Electronic mail among DOE and contractor offices

Users can work from remote terminals to search several databases, review search results online, download to a personal computer, or order printed copy.

Among the databases available are:

• Energy Science and Technology - bibliographic information with abstracts for the most recent energy-related scientific and technical information in DOE's collection
• Reports Holdings File - Information on all reports held by OSTI, usually report number and some additional announcement/availability information
• Program specific databasesto support DOE program offices.

- Also available are authority files such as research organization names, subject thesaurus, etc.

Searching on ITIS is quick and easy. Menu-assisted searching is available on several databases, and the system has many user-friendly features to make finding needed information a simpler process.
