The Department of Energy Home Page on the Internet provides general information and news about the Department of Energy and identifies starting points and pathways for accessing other information. The Department's Home Page is managed by the DOE Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), located in Oak Ridge, TN.
The DOE Home Page links to and from the White House Home Page and to other federal agencies, other information sources around the world, and, of course, other Home Pages across the Department of Energy. It is a single address the public can use to access Departmental servers; the official contact point for the Department as a whole. The Home Page is one of the first milestones in DOE's attempt to reach out to the public and to provide more and better access to government information.
