Commerce At Light Speed (CALS) Roadmap 2000

In a press release, on May 17, 1995, the CALS Industry Steering Group, which is a group of business industrialists that promote enterprise integration and electronic commerce, announced proposed funding for a permanent CALS Roadmap 2000 testbed that will likely be located at Lockheed-Martin (Martin Marietta) Energy Systems' Oak Ridge Complex. The CALS initiative endorses commercial standards, technologies and processes that have been recognized to help promote enterprise integration and electronic commerce. The CALS Roadmap 2000 is an exhibit that demonstrates the CALS principles of seamless sharing of data between enterprises using standards, off the shelf products and interoperable networks. CALS Roadmap 2000 has been displayed annually for the past four years at the CALS EXPO International Industry show, and brings together companies from many industrial sectors, multi-national organizations and government agencies.
