H.W. (BUD) ARROWSMITH


President, Scientific Ecology Group

Bud Arrowsmith is the founder, president and chief executive officer of the Scientific Ecology Group Inc. (SEG). He started the company in 1985 and has guided its growth to the number one position in the U.S. radioactive waste processing market. SEG has more than 1,400 employees managing radioactive waste in the U.S. and in foreign countries.

Mr. Arrowsmith has more than 30 years experience in the nuclear arena, including 15 years of research work at the Hanford Plant in Washington. He currently serves on the boards of the Pellissippi Foundation and Oak Ridge Methodist hospital, as well as those of several area businesses.


DAVID W. SWINDLE

President, Oak Ridge Waste Management Association

David Swindle currently is senior program manager on the Corporate Operations staff of Radian Corporation in Oak Ridge. He serves as the senior program and business development manager for the corporation's environmental restoration and waste management program activities that Radian performs for the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge, Savannah River and Washington, D.C., sites. In addition, he is responsible for leading Radian's environmental support activities for Lockheed martin Corporation, as well as managing a significant portion of Radian's National Security Program activities.

Prior to joining Radian, Mr. Swindle worked for Martin Marietta Energy Systems, where he served as Environmental Restoration and Waste Management Technical Integration director and International Technology Programs Division director. He serves as president of the Oak Ridge Waste Management Association, which consists of more than 100 engineering, environmental and waste management firms in the East Tennessee area.


DAVID CROCKETT

City Councilman, Chattanooga

David Crockett is in his second term as a city councilman of Chattanooga. He serves as chairman of the Economic Development and Environment Committee. He has been instrumental in formulating and implementing Chattanooga's "Environmental City" strategy. This strategy is designed to use the "environment" and "sustainability" as central themes for developing and integrating education, economic development, human resource development, urban planning, transportation and quality of life initiatives.

Mr. Crockett was with IBM Corporation for 21 years prior to forming his own consulting company, The Sustainability Management Group. He has served on boards and advisory groups of a number of organizations, including task forces of the President's Council on Sustainability, The National Advisory Council of Environmental Policy and Technology, The Climate Institute, the Tennessee Conservation League and the Zero Emissions Research Initiative.


LINCOLN E. (LINC) HALL

Vice President, Lockheed Martin Energy Systems

Linc Hall is the vice president of Environmental Management and Enrichment Facilities for Lockheed Martin Energy Systems. He is responsible for managing the Oak Ridge K-25 Site and supporting activities at the Department of Energy's Paducah, Kentucky, and Portsmouth, Ohio gaseous diffusion plants.

Prior to coming to Oak Ridge, Mr. Hall worked for Martin Marietta in Orlando, Fla. He joined Martin Marietta Corporation in 1961 and has held positions as director of environmental management for the corporation's Electronics and Missiles Group and director of production operations for a communications system built by Martin Marietta for the U.S. Air Force.

He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., and has served as an adjunct professor at Valencia College in Orlando. He also served as a member of the Florida Governor's Committee for State Emergency Response.


EDWARD S. KEEN

Senior Vice President, Bechtel National

Ed Keen is a Bechtel partner and corporate officer with 35 years of engineering and construction management experience. For some 10 years, he has been directly involved in the management of environmental services. Most recently, he led the Bechtel team that is managing environmental restoration at the Department of Energy's Hanford Site. He has worked on a number of environmental restoration projects over the years, including DOE's Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program, EPA's Region IV and Region IX/X ARCS Superfund Program, Operation Desert Storm environmental restoration management and service assignments at more than 40 Superfund sites.

Mr. Keen began his career at the Boeing Company, working from 1962 to 1979 on major projects for NASA, the Department of Defense and DOE. He then served as vice president for the Knoxville International Energy Exposition for the 1982 World's Fair, where he was responsible for all planning, design and construction. After joining Bechtel in 1983, he was placed under contract to the Los Angeles Olympic Committee as vice president responsible for planning, designing and constructing 23 competition facilities, 12 support facilities and three villages for participating athletes.


JOHN MYERS

Congressman, 7th District of Indiana

John Myers has served the people of the 7th District of Indiana since 1967. He ranks eleventh among all members of Congress and third among the Republican majority. He has served on the House Agriculture Committee and the House Committee on Appropriations. He is now chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, and also is serving on the Subcommittee on Military Appropriations and the Subcommittee on Agriculture Appropriations.

Representative Myers is a graduate of Indiana State University. He served with the Army in Europe during World War II and later was commissioned an officer in the Army Reserves. He began his career in farming, and later pursued a career in banking.


WILLIAM P. SUDDERTH

President, RiverValley Partners

William Sudderth has more than 20 years of industrial and commercial development experience. He has held positions as president of McDowell Development and vice president of Charter Real Estate. Most recently, he has served as president of RiverCity Company, which was instrumental in the successful completion of the Tennessee Aquarium, the first six phases of the Tennessee Riverwalk, Ross's Landing Park and Plaza and the new Visitor's Center.

Mr. Sudderth has served as past chairman of the Industrial Committee of 100, past president of the Tennessee Industrial Development Council and past chairman of the Private Industry Council. He is a member of the boards of directors of the Inner City Development Corporation, Tennessee Aquarium and the Juvenile Court Commissions.


GREER C. TIDWELL

Professor, Vanderbilt University

Greer Tidwell currently teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in environmental engineering at Vanderbilt University. He has served for five years as regional administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Region IV. Following several years of public sector service in engineering and management positions with the Tennessee Valley Authority and EPA, he founded an environmental engineering firm, where he served 14 years as its chairman and chief executive officer.

Professor Tidwell is a registered engineer in several states, and his professional experience includes work at the national and international levels. He has successfully coordinated environmental policy objectives with the environmental programs of eight southeastern states . He also has provided consulting services for clients in Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Japan, Thailand, Brazil and Australia. He also has served as chairman of the Tennessee Solid Waste Disposal Control board and serves on the boards of directors for several corporations.
